Tips To Protecting Your Home Videos From Getting Destroyed Inadvertently

If you’ve read any of my articles by now, you know I am not a fan of “free” for anything I buy on the Internet. That is a four-letter word I don’t like, especially when it comes to the best DVD movie burning software on the net. I say always look to reputable and reliable sources for all your burn copies whether it is for a DVD movie download or music CD.

Movie burning software has become increasing popular in that we don’t have to get in our cars and drive to the rental store or drive to the movie theater. We are able now to burn copy protected DVD movies and watch them in the comforts of our homes and save money at the same time.

You will encounter several choices for the best DVD burning software so here are some questions you should ask before making your decision. Do you get the latest or recent movie releases? Are the DVD movies of professional quality? Is the software easy to install and don’t take up large amounts of space? Are the movies easy to burn? Do they have customer support you can rely on? Are there free automatic updates?

First start with quality brand DVD discs. Don’t settle for the cheapest as this may affect your movie quality or even stop the burning process. Make sure you don’t touch your disc, but handle it either on the edges or the inside hole. You can keep your discs protected by dirt and contaminants by always placing them back into a disc jacket.

Always use the “disc-at-once” mode that will be a better burn than your alternative, the “track-at-once” mode that may overlap the sectors between the tracks and result in the disc not playing on certain machines.

Burn your DVD using the slower speeds for the best quality results. Did you know that the slower burnt discs last longer and can be played in more machines than the faster burnt discs? Also when the movie is burned to the disc, you may see some extra space left. Don’t be tempted to burn another movie on the same disc. Or else you may find neither movie will play.

Yes, burning software is becoming more popular these days as more and more people choose to burn their own movies. Even movie distributors themselves encourage us to download full length DVD movies because it reduces their expenses by not having to record, store and sell movies on digital discs.

Besides a motion picture entertainment experience, our kids are being taught in their schools with burns on biographies, to help them learn of famous people in history. Just think about it. We’ll never have to go to the retail store for movies again. With the popularity of big screen TVs, we can watch our burn copies right in the comforts of our homes without having to go to the theaters.
